Unlike the classic holly berries, this imaginative piece replaces them with eyeballs. Yes, you read that right! These tiny crocheted eyeballs bring an unexpected and playful element to the design, making it stand out from the crowd. It’s as if the holly leaves have eyes of their own, creating an uncanny effect that is sure to catch everyone’s attention.

Speaking of the holly leaves, they are meticulously crafted with dark, crocheted yarn. The combination of the deep hue and the intricate crochet stitches gives them an elegant and slightly gothic look. This unconventional choice adds an intriguing contrast to the traditional green leaves, making this holly a true statement piece.

But what makes this crocheted creepmas holly truly remarkable is the feeling that it’s always watching. The positioning of the eyeballs, strategically scattered across the leaves, creates a sense of observation and mystery. Whether you place it on your Christmas tree, hang it on your door, or use it as a centerpiece, this decoration is bound to capture everyone’s curiosity.

If you want to take this eerie aesthetic a step further, you can even add some extra details to the eyeballs. By using red embroidery thread, you can create veins on the surface of the eyes, giving them a more realistic and haunting appearance. This additional touch enhances the overall creepiness of the holly, making it a perfect fit for those who enjoy the darker side of the holiday season.

So, if you’re a spooky Christmas lover looking for a distinctive decoration that will make your holiday setup truly unforgettable, look no further than this crocheted creepmas holly. With its quirky combination of eyeballs, dark crocheted leaves, and the option to add intricate details to the eyes, this unique piece will add a touch of macabre festivity to your home. Get ready to embrace the eerie charm of Christmas like never before!

Crochet Techniques to Know

Here are the basic crochet stitches we’ll use in this project.
Slip Stitch (sl st): To make a slip stitch, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over, and pull through both the stitch and the loop on the hook.
Single Crochet (sc): To make a single crochet, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (2 loops on the hook). Yarn over again and pull through both loops to complete the stitch.
Half Double Crochet (hdc): This stitch is taller than a single crochet. To make an hdc, yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Yarn over again and pull through all 3 loops to complete the stitch.
Working in the Back Loops (blo): Normally, we work through both top loops of a stitch. But in this project, we’ll work in the back loops only to create a ribbed texture. To do this, insert the hook under the back loop only. Then, complete the stitch as usual.
