Doughnuts

Doughnuts are indeed super simple to make, and better yet, you can make them from scratch right at home in just one day. With a little effort and a few basic ingredients, you can create the most delightful and tempting dessert, surpassing the experience of simply going out and buying them.

Ingredients
  

  • 90 ml Water Warm
  • 5 g Yeast 454 g Flour
  • 57 g Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg Room Temperature
  • 150 ml Buttermilk Room Temperature
  • 57 g Butter Melted

Method
 

  1. Mix water with yeast and a pinch of sugar.
  2. Place flour, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl with the dough hook, mix for 1 minute.
  3. Add, egg, buttermilk, butter, and yeast mixture. Run mixer until dough has formed.
  4. Once dough has formed run mixer for 5 more minutes.
  5. Cover with a wet towel in a warm kitchen until dough has doubled in size.
  6. Divide in half, roll out to 1/2" thickness.
  7. Cut out circles using a large cookie cutter or a doughnut cutter. Use a smaller cookie cutter to cut out the center of the doughnut.
  8. Place on parchment paper on a cookie sheet.
  9. Heat oven for 1 minute and 30 seconds and turn off oven.
  10. Place doughnuts in oven with some boiling water to proof a second time.
  11. Once doubled in size time to start frying.
  12. Heat oil to 350°F turn once golden.
  13. Place on paper towel let cool completely before decorating.
