Method
Chocolate Cake
- Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Whisk in milk, butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Stir in water until smooth.
- Divide into 2, 9 inch pans, or 3, 6 inch pans.
- Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes before transferring to rack.
Chocolate Buttercream
- Beat butter until light and fluffy. About 3-5 minutes.
- Mix in cocoa powder until fully combined.
- On low speed add in vanilla.
- Add in powdered sugar, one cup at a time until fully incorporated.
- Next, add in whipping cream slowly until you have reached the right constancy.
- Beat buttercream for 2-3 minutes once everything has been added.
