2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
Measure 1 level cup of all-purpose flour, place the flour into a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to the all-purpose flour. Sift together 3 times to ensure it has been mixed. Measure as you would for all-purpose flour.
What is the difference between all purpose flour and cake flour?
Cake flour is a finely milled, delicate flour with a low protein content. The primary difference between cake flour and all-purpose flour is the protein content (which becomes gluten). Cake flour has a slightly lower protein content, while all-purpose flour has a slightly higher protein content.
Do I need cake flour?
You do not need to use cake flour for for cakes, cake flour creates a lighter cake. You can use either cake flour or all-purpose flour it will not change the taste of the cake. The all-purpose flour will create a more dense cake where as the cake flour will be more airy and light. If you like a more dense cake just use all-purpose flour and skip the cake flour all in all.
